Leadership is the ability of a leader to influence and motivate others to achieve common goals, thereby making them willing to act voluntarily. Leaders with high EI tend to create a positive work environment, foster strong communication, and increase team motivation and enthusiasm. This study conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) of 30 articles on the relationship between EI and leadership effectiveness. Using qualitative methods, this study aims further to analyze the relationship between EI and leadership effectiveness. In addition, this study also reveals that EI development has not been a major focus in human resource development. Therefore, it is important to prioritize EI development in leadership training programs to enable organizations to adapt to ongoing changes.
